A golden Tibetan Mastiff puppy has just fetched the overwhelming price of $1.95 million dollars in China, making it believed to be the most expensive dog ever sold.
The puppy was sold to an unidentified property developer at a premium pet fair in the eastern province of Zhejiang.
The reason these dogs command such high prices is that some actually believe they have lion’s blood in their veins. This myth has created a frenzy for wealthy Chinese buyers. Yes, you read that correctly.
Using a rough calculation, we determined this price could have paid the adoption fees of nearly 10,000 shelter dogs!!!
