Mr. Fry is a saluki mis that was rescued by Arizona Greyhound Rescue (AGR). The idea for the non-profit came about in 1992 when Joan and Steve Randles were looking to adopt a few greyhounds from the Tucson Greyhound Park, but there was no program in place to allow the dogs to adopted after they had retired form racing.
While they were able to finally get a few of the dogs, the Randles felt more could be down. Two years later, in 1994 they started the Arizona Greyhound Rescue to help get all the other hounds into homes. Fast forward, and they have helped hundreds of greyhounds find loving, permanent homes. So what really makes Mr. Fry special? His sleeping habits have gained him notoriety on the web.
According the rescue, he will moves bed to the sunny spot in the house – he loves to back in the sun. Or if you leave the room, he will follow you with his bed to wherever you are going.
But Mr. Fry is special. He is the first dog to be placed by the group as a therapy dog. He is currently a resident therapy dog for Sunrise Senior Living in Tucson, Arizona.
