We see a lot of videos and photos of homeless dogs, dogs who are being abused and are suffering. It breaks our hearts and we start to think that there’s no hope for this cruel world. But when we see heartwarming stories of dogs being rescued and people going out of their way to help dogs in need, we realize that there’s still some good left in this world. And this story we have for you is one of those heartwarming ones.
In Romania, an animal hospital has become a sanctuary for stray dogs.

Adăpostul Speranța, a partner of Four Paws International, gives shelter for homeless dogs–a shelter for life.

And in addition to that, they also provide wheelchairs for the dogs who need them.

All disabled or paralyzed dogs are given special carts so they can move easily; giving them the chance to run and play whenever they want to.

The president of Fundatia Speranta, Florina Tomescu, wants to make sure that these dogs wouldn’t have to worry about living in the streets ever again. So they gave them a place where they can stay for the rest of their lives.

Recently, they posted on Facebook saying, “At Speranța, we insist not to leave any dog behind. Beside the worst of cases, when putting a dog to sleep can save him from a life of torment and pain, we absolutely refuse to end a life that, with proper care, can be a happy one. And we’re also the ones who provide that care, and the happiness of our paraplegic dogs is our reward.”

And with the winter coming, they are preparing to house more dogs. And since the dogs are getting bigger, they also need to purchase more wheelchairs since some of them already broke.
