Every week, iHeartDogs will feature a new shelter dog in need of a loving forever home. These amazing animals remind us that homeless pets everywhere have extraordinary stories and deserve a second chance.
Meet Jackson!
Jackson is a Husky mix who looks great for his age! At an impressive 16-years-old, this pup has a zest for life and even loves to play in short spurts.
But the thing that will make you really fall in love with this senior sweetheart is his calm and loving personality. This gentle soul gets along with everybody, including kids, cats, and other dogs.
“Jackson is a mellow, patient boy who loves to come up to his humans and place his head on their laps, nudging their hands to get petting,” reads his adoption profile.
(Doesn’t that just melt your heart?)
All Jackson wants is a home where he can share his endless love with his family. He’d be the perfect companion for someone who’d enjoy a little company at home while snuggling on the couch, lounging on the porch, or going for relaxing strolls.
This good boy is potty trained, doesn’t need to be crated, and is well-mannered on a leash. Potential adopters should know that he can get a little stiff or wobbly from arthritis, but he does great when walking on rugs or carpets where he has a good grip.
All Jackson needs is for someone to make him feel special for the rest of his days – could that be with you?
Jackson is currently in a foster home and is being adopted through Austin Pets Alive! in Texas. Click here to view his adoption profile or email adopt@austinpetsalive.org to inquire about taking this lovely boy home!
