Puppy Who Was About To Be Put Down Showed The Vet She’s Not Ready To Give Up Just Yet

The life of a stray dog is difficult. Everyday, you have to roam the streets in search of food and shelter. In addition to that, there are also lots of potential threats to the life of a stray dog. They would have to watch out for cruel humans, other dogs, and speeding vehicles.

This puppy named Eve was born a stray. When she was picked up by Douglas County Animal Control, she was already injured. She was hit by a car and her pelvis, hip and front leg were broken.

Eve was in a lot of pain. Animal control were thinking of euthanizing her to end her suffering and since expenses to treat her would be too much. But Eve was not ready to give up. The vet saw Eve wag her tail and she gave kisses to the vet.

The vet immediately called Jason Flatt, founder of Friends to the Forlorn Pitbull Rescue. Flatt didn’t hesitate to take Eve under their care and immediately rushed her to Dr. Leathers at the New Hope Animal Hospital. Dr. Leathers examined Eve and since he did not have the equipment to fix her, he referred them to Georgia Veterinary Specialists (GVS).

Eve was in pain but during that whole time she still tried to walk and give kisses to everyone–an indication that she is determined to live.

But there was one problem, the estimated cost of Eve’s treatment was almost $7,000.

However, Eve showed more of her fighting spirit. A month later when she was examined again, they found out that Eve’s bones have healed themselves. And the only thing she needed was a metal plate inserted over her leg bone which costs $2,100.

Eve now has a foster family. And she absolutely loves her foster sibling! We hope that someday soon, she will find a loving, forever family.
