Popular Pet Food Brand Recalls One Of Its Products For Dogs

| March 18, 2017

Wellness pet food is recalling one of its canned food products.

A certain lot of 95% Beef Topper for Dogs “may contain elevated levels of naturally occurring beef thyroid hormone,” according to Dog Food Advisor.

If you have this product at home, don’t panic; the recall is voluntary and precautionary, and no illnesses have been reported in connection to the affected lot.

Dog Food Advisor explains:

Elevated levels of thyroid hormone may affect a dog’s metabolism and can be associated with increased thirst and urinary output, restless behavior and weight loss.

Multiple studies indicate that for the vast majority of pets, symptoms are reversible as soon as the pet stops eating product with elevated thyroid hormone.
