A mom’s job never ends, even when their children are sleeping. Luckily for this mom, she has some extra help with tucking in her daughter and helping her feel safe during nap time!
We all know that rescue dogs are some of the best pups out there, but they can certainly come with their own baggage. With having an unknown past and struggles that we are unaware of, you never know exactly what you’re getting. This is especially true when it comes to how they interact with children.
Kristin Rhynehart’s decision to adopt a rescue dog named Raven proved to be one of the best decisions she could ever make for her family. From the moment that Raven stepped into their home 10 years ago, he has been a loyal protector to each and every person in their home.
With how important Raven is to the Rhynehart family, you can imagine how upset Kristin was one morning when Raven was nowhere to be found. After searching the house high and low, it was as if the rescued pup had simply vanished. Kristin understandably began to panic, only to realize that there was still one room she hadn’t checked; her youngest daughter’s room.
After making her way to her sleeping daughter’s bedroom, she was immediately met with a sigh of relief. Raven had made his way into the young girl’s room, but he was up to something truly adorable.
Raven was lying next to his favorite little girl, cuddled under the blankets and all! At some point, he must have crawled into her crib in order to help her feel safe and was cozy enough to fall asleep during the process.
With how heartwarming of a moment this was, Kristin knew she had to pull out her phone and film! We’re so glad that she did because now we get to witness this incredible moment shared between a little girl and her furry protector! Check it out for yourself below.
“That moment you can’t find your dog and you even go outside looking for him… only to walk in the house and find him snuggled up in bed next to your toddler. People that say ‘money can’t buy happiness’ have never paid an adoption fee. Ten years ago, I left a rescue with this little guy and I often wonder… who rescued who. I gave him a home, but he gave me so, so much more. ’Rescued’ is my favorite breed. Dogs have a way of finding the people that need them… filling an emptiness we didn’t even know we had…” – Kristin Rhynehart
Raven is a special pup with a heart of gold. We hope this story encourages you to go out and find your very own rescued furry friend!
