Gentle Giant Dog Is The Biggest Rescue They’ve Ever Had…And He Needs A Loving Home!

| February 12, 2016

Jagger is a three-year-old Great Dane Mix up for adoption at the RSPCA Millbrook Animal Center in Surrey, England.

Described as a “gentle giant” by shelter staff, this super-sized sweetheart was subject neglected in his previous home: he was so big, he was kept outside, resulting in pressure sores. When Jagger was found, he’d been abandoned, tied to a lamppost.

This massive mutt would make a wonderful addition–to the right home! There are a few things that potential adopters should know.

Caring for Jagger will be expensive. This 80kg (176 pounds) pup eats two pounds of food a day! He’ll need to live in a BIG house with a BIG yard (and a BIG car would be recommended, too!). Though mild-mannered, this handsome boy is very strong. The RSPCA Millbrook shelter site says that it takes two members of staff just to walk him on a leash! And neat freaks, be warned: Jagger’s kisses come with some extra slobber.

Understandably, the shelter would like to see the pup get adopted by a family who has experience with giant-breed dogs. Shelter staff say that the pony-sized pooch would be great with school-aged kids, and even another dog, as long as it’s a large female who’s been spayed. He is even well-behaved when left in a crate for a few hours.
