Former Bait Dog Does Something Special For Kids Affected By Hurricane Irma

| October 11, 2017

Abigail the rescue dog is absolutely unstoppable. First, she survived life as a bait dog and losing an ear, then made the best of it by wearing adorable headbands over the wounds. Then, her inspirational story helped her win a hero dog award. Now, she and her sister Tala are therapy dogs, and together, they brightened the day of children who were affected by Hurricane Irma. (We’d also like to give a shout out to their amazing rescuers and family, who saved and raised such amazing girls!)

Abigail and Tala decided to share their endless optimism and joy to kids in Immokalee, Florida. There, they brought smiles and toys to some of the youngsters who lost most of their possessions during the devastation of Hurricane Irma. The gifts were given out at the First Assembly Church of God, much to the delight of many youngsters and their families!

The Bonnets For Abigail Facebook page says:

“Not only did these kiddos enjoy their stuffed animals, but they learned about Abigail, her journey, dog fighting, how to properly love, and train their dog. It was so heartwarming to see the kids and parents smile, their love for their families, and to know that they were so thankful was an incredible feeling.”

The visit was so successful, Abigail and Tala are planning on partnering with the church for this year’s Christmas drive!

Abigail’s unbreakable spirit continues to be an inspiration for people around the world. Despite her horrific past, she, her sister Tala, and her parents have spread so much hope and joy where it’s needed most. Way to go, guys!
