For Months, This Dog Has Lived In The Car Where His Owner Died Till Somebody Finally Rescued Him

Menino, which means “boy” in Portuguese, is a loyal and faithful dog.

It was September last year when a tragic accident happened. Menino and his owner were out for a drive in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil and they got into a car accident. Menino survived the car crash but unfortunately, his owner didn’t. No one was there to take him, so when the crew was done cleaning, Menino was still inside the car when they towed it and brought it to the storage yard.

The family and relatives of Menino’s owner had been contacted. They promised to take the dog, and yet no one ever came. For months the poor dog remained in the car, hoping and waiting or his dead owner to return.

Menino was only noticed when a new security guard was assigned four months later. David Guimarães Santos saw poor Menino living inside the car and sleeping inside it each night. It was heartbreaking and Santos was moved by this dog’s love and loyalty for his deceased owner.

Little by little, Santos gained Menino’s trust. And as time passed, the two became friends. Menino was living in the wrecked car, but he wasn’t alone anymore. Santos was there to keep an eye on him and keep him company.

But one day, Santos was hired to work in another location. He thought of Menino and he couldn’t bear leaving the poor dog there all by himself. So this kindhearted security guard decided to take Menino home with him and make him a permanent member of his family.

After 10 months of living inside the wrecked car of his deceased owner, Menino found a new home and a new family. And every time Santos comes home, Menino shows him just how happy and thankful he is.

It’s a bittersweet story, but it has a happy ending. We are happy that Menino has found a new family who will look after him and give him the love that he needs.
