Sir Gideon was not always the distinguished, burly pooch he is today. He was found chained to an abandoned porch, weighing in at a death-defying 14 pounds.
The photo below shows the emaciated Pit Bull mix a week after his rescue. At that point, he had already received emergency treatment and actually gained weight!
Despite his horrifying condition and permanently “grumpy” face, Sir Gideon was a gentleman from the start. His rescuers at All Breed Rescue Angels (ABRA, inc.) fell in love with him instantly.
ABRA, Inc. spent months rebuilding Sir Gideon’s strength and getting him to a healthy weight. They were able to do so with the donated food they received from GreaterGood.org’s Rescue Bank program.
Today, his former neglect is nothing but a distant memory. Sir Gideon is a much loved and well cared for pet. The family that adopted him adores him, and he is as spoiled as any dog can be.
