At a Major League Baseball game this weekend, a dog made an amazing catch by grabbing a home run ball in its mouth. The game was between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Kansas City Royals. In the 7th inning, Dodgers player Michael Busch hit the ball over the left field wall, as reported by MLB.com.
Fans tried to catch the flying ball, but the real winner was a dog. In a cute moment that everyone loved, the dog caught the ball right out of the air. The commentators were thrilled, saying, “Did the dog catch that? Yeah, how about that!”
The dog, wearing a Dodgers jersey just for dogs, held onto the ball for a bit before giving it to its owner. The owner then showed off the ball to everyone. For many fans, catching a home run ball is a big dream, and this dog did just that, even though to him, it was just like catching any ball.
This wasn’t the first time a dog caught a home run ball at a game. A similar thing happened before when a dog caught a ball hit by Francisco Lindor of the New York Mets. The commentator joked then, “It’s a chew toy now.”
Good job to this dog for making such a cool catch. What an incredible thing to see.
