In Arkansas City Kansas, police quickly came to the rescue of a dog that they found hanging from a car in a store’s parking lot.
The incident happened in July 8 when Sergeant Jason Legleiter and Police Officer Wade Hammond responded to shoplifting call in a Wal-Mart store. After the two secured the suspect in their patrol vehicle, a Wal-Mart employee alerted them about a dog who was hanging from his leash outside a parked truck. The two quickly went to the said vehicle and found that the dog appeared to have jumped out the truck’s open window and have hung himself.

The dog was motionless and he appeared to be dead. But Sergeant Legleiter acted quickly, pulled out his patrol knife, and cut the dog down from his leash. Officer Hammond tended to the dog who was still unresponsive. He removed the dog’s collar to let him breathe and he applied pressure to the dog’s side.
Moments later, the dog started to show signs of life. He gradually became more responsive until he was able to recover and stand on his own.
