Galena, a cat known for her shy and playful nature, unexpectedly found herself on a journey that took her 650 miles away from her Utah home, all due to her curiosity about boxes. Here’s the scoop.

Two weeks ago, Galena disappeared. Her owners, Carrie and Matt Clark, were puzzled and concerned. “We just had no idea what happened,” said Carrie. They searched tirelessly for their beloved pet. “We put tons of flyers up. We contacted friends and family to help us search,” Matt explained, hoping for any sign of Galena.

A week after Galena’s disappearance, the Clarks received a startling phone call: Galena’s microchip had been detected near Riverside, California. “I just couldn’t even believe that she was in California. I thought it was a prank,” Carrie expressed, overwhelmed by the news.

The mystery of how Galena traveled so far was soon uncovered. The cat had sneaked into an Amazon box at home, unnoticed by her owners. The box, which was used to return a pair of shoes, contained Galena when Matt unknowingly dropped it off. “We had no idea,” he admitted, stunned by the realization.

An Amazon employee named Brandi found Galena at the facility in California. “She was trapped in an Amazon package,” the Clarks explained. Brandi cared for Galena, who had spent six days without food or water. “And we are so thankful for Brandi and for everything that she did for our kitty,” they gratefully acknowledged.

The reunion with Galena was miraculous for the Clarks. “It was just the best because I know that under other circumstances, she wouldn’t have been found,” they shared, relieved and happy to have their cat back.
