Imgur user and World’s Best Mom Baja29reallyiam2 knew that when her son went away to school overseas for a year that he would be missing his dog terribly. She wasn’t going to just let the year go by while her boy’s heart broke, so every day for that year she sent him a photo of their family’s dog!
Dog ownership was hard earned for the young man. As part of a deal he made with his father, he agreed to walk around the block twice a day with just a leash to earn his pup. Imagine his father’s suprise when he followed through!
“My son was quite tenacious and never missed a day. My husband learned never Make a Deal with someone unless you’re willing to follow through with the terms.”
That was 6 years ago. The family adopted a Beagle/Jack Russell Terrier mix, now named Terror, who was in bad shape when they found her
“She was emaciated and hairless and afraid of everything in the world….now she is sweet and gentle and loves everyone…”
The boy and the dog spent 5 years building their bond before he went off to school in another country, so it was hard to leave her behind.
“So, when it came time for him to go to school overseas he was so heartbroken and missed his pup so much. So I sent him a picture everyday to cheer him up. These are just a few excerpts from our year.”
