On the evening of January 3, Lindsey Jennings was involved in a brutal head-on collision. As rescue workers pulled her from the wreckage, her beloved 6-year-old Pitbull, Cato fled the scene in terror.

After the accident, a few witnesses attempted to capture Cato to no avail. There have been several sightings around the area of Indian Trail, North Carolina where the crash occurred, but every time Cato is approached he runs off.
Lindsey’s sister-in-law, Ashley Jennings says that the community has been incredibly helpful and supportive in the search for Cato. She told WBTV News,
“We’ve been searching for a week. In the cold weather, night, day. We’ve had everybody in the community helping,”
Ashley’s biggest fear is having to explain to Lindsey that Cato is missing after all she has been through and may still have to face. Lindsey is expected to recover from her injuries, but losing Cato would be a devastating emotional blow.
“When she wakes up, we have to have her dog. Because if she remembers anything from that night or even if she doesn’t, she’s going to ask ‘How’s Cato?'” Ashley said. She added, “I want to say I’m confident we’re going to find him because I don’t think this family can handle anymore,”
The Jennings family is offering a $500 reward for Cato’s safe return. They ask that if you spot him, please do not attempt to capture him yourself. Call the following number with any info (704) 492-2482.
