About a week ago, we featured a story about a dog who was abandoned during the severe flooding in Texas. The poor dog was found tethered and up to her neck in flood waters. Thankfully, she was saved by Sheriff Troy E. Nehls, who also ended up adopting her!
But that dog was just one among the many dogs who were abandoned during the flood. Thankfully, some kindhearted people stepped up to save these dogs.
Reddit user DUSTYHAM posted photos of his dad and his brother who stayed behind to save the dogs who were abandoned when their families evacuated.
The duo had a boat and they had to make several trips to save as many dogs as possible.
In total, they were able to save as many as 40 dogs!
We salute these amazing people for the work they’ve done!
The SPCA of Brazoria county created a temporary shelter for the abandoned dogs. They will take care of the dogs until they the owners come and claim them. If not, they will find foster homes and the dogs will be put up for adoption.
To those who are looking for their dogs, this is what SPCA posted on Facebook,
