Clyde came into care at just shy of six-months-old. He was incredibly energetic and inquisitive. This may have made him slightly tricky to train, but his curiosity demonstrated his super sharp mind.

When Refurbished Pets of Southern Michigan identified Clyde as a prime candidate for their training program, it was his high intelligence that stood out. He was so curious and creative. But he was directing his seemingly endless energy into pursuits like pacing and chewing. 

With a little time and training, Clyde was sure to be an awesome furry family member. 

While he started out as skittish and afraid, training and socializing helped this bright boy really come into his own. In the beginning, he was constantly barking at the different inmates in charge of his training at Lakeland Correctional Facility. But with time, his confidence grew. 

Refurbished Pets of Southern Michigan partners with animal shelters and Lakeland Correctional Facility to help dogs reach their maximum potential. And this is exactly what they did for Clyde. With time and patience, Clyde went from skittish and scared to being a confident canine companion.

Thanks to Greater Good Charities’ GOODS program, this enthusiastic chewer had all the tasty treats he needed to satiate his natural urge to chew. By providing free food and treats, Greater Good ensures that rescue canines like Clyde can always count on full bellies of healthy food and lots of rewards for their training achievements.  

With the burden of purchasing food and treats lifted from shelters like Refurbished Pets of Southern Michigan, rescuers can devote funds from their limited resources to medical emergencies and supplies for new foster families.
