9 Awful Ways Your Dog Is Telling You He Needs A (New) Job – STAT!

| June 2, 2015

If your dog isn’t getting enough out of life, he may decide he needs a job. And trust us, you don’t want your dog to choose a job for himself. If he is digging a hole, shredding your newspaper or destroying your furniture, it might just be his not-so-subtle way of letting you know he found a job on his own. You should probably give him something else to do – like agility or disc dog – and quickly at that.

#1 – Shredder

Is your dog devouring the job ads? He may be looking for something to occupy his time or may be he has already found it – meet your own energy efficient shredding machine.

#2 – Personal Stylist

Did you catch your dog with your new leather work shoes? Maybe she has decided to be your personal stylist – the “chewed” look is in this season, you know.

#3 – Landscaper

Did your dog decided to re-landscape your backyard for you? He may have some artistic talents that are being repressed…

#4 – Redecorating while you are at work

Did your dog decide your couch simply “had to go”? He may need you to give him a career other than interior decorator.

#6 –Dumpster Diver

Dogs lacking direction may look for it in strange places – like your garbage. Maybe he will turn it into a work of art.

#7 – Tail Chasing

Has your dog taken up tail chasing? He may need something more fulfilling to do all day, especially before he ends up at the vet’s office!

#8 – 24/7 watch dog

Has your dog decided everything is a threat that needs to be barked at? Including that leaf blowing by the window? You might want to assign him a new job if you plan to sleep at night…

#9 –Escape Artist

While humans can make a decent living and even become legendary, a four-legged Houdini is just up to no good. If your dog has decided that escaping is the best cure for his boredom, you may want to offer an alternative career path (unless you like spending your free time searching all over the neighborhood for your dog).
