We all wish we could take our dogs to work with us, but not everyone is so lucky. If you’re tired of your current job and are desperate to find somewhere that will let you spend more time with your furry family member, be sure to check out dog-friendly employers. There are quite a few, and you’d be surprised at how much they love their employees to bring dogs to work!
- Pet Plan – Founded in 2003, Pet Plan is a pet health insurance company that’s opted to be more than just a money hungry scam. They were created out of a love for pets, not business, and want to emphasize that in every way they can. To show how much they care about all pets, their employees are encouraged to bring them to work!
- Clif Bar – Clif Bar makes delicious protein and energy bars for active people, and started as a dog-friendly company from the very beginning. In fact, in his story about the company’s birth, Gary Erickson even mentions his two dogs. At any given time, there might be up to 20 dogs in the office, offering their support and building camaraderie among the employees!
- Salesforce.com – Not only are employees of Salesforce.com allowed to bring their dogs to work, they even have an on-site, employee run doggy daycare while you’re too busy to keep an eye on your pooch. Even workers without dogs often find themselves visiting the daycare to get their fill of happy canine faces. After all, don’t dogs brighten up everyone’s day?
- Google – Google is notoriously for being an incredible company to work for, and it’s no surprise that many of their employees spend the workday with their dogs at their feet. When looking for ways to keep employees happy, healthy, and efficient, it’s no wonder that they decided allowing dogs to join their owners was an excellent option.
- Etsy – Etsy started back in 2005 and is run and employed by open, caring, creative individuals. These same individuals have as much love for their dogs as they do their work, so it makes sense that they’re encouraged to bring them to the office. In fact, they’ve found that not only is it fun for the dogs, it helps employees feel better about coming to work and even increases work results.
There are many more companies that allow employees to bring dogs to work, so don’t stop your search after this list. Doggy daycare and dog walkers are always an option for those who work long hours away, but for some of us it just isn’t enough. So if you’d like to take your pup to work with you, be sure to check out these options.
