Possibly the best thing about a shelter dog is knowing that taking her home meant saving a life. That’s a pretty good feeling.
#6 – Lower Cost
While it shouldn’t be “about the money,” a puppy has a lot of costs: the price of the puppy, shots, spay/neuter, not to mention all the toys and household items he will chew through. A shelter dog has already been altered, vaccinated, and most likely won’t eat your house up. Plus, adoption fees are a lot lower than a puppy, so you can spend more money spoiling your dog.
