#6 – Caregiver Canines (New Jersey)

Caregiver Canines provides therapy dogs and volunteers to visit with elderly and those with dementia in their own homes on a weekly basis. Since they began in 2009, the group of 35 teams has brightened the lives of 100 individuals. TIP: You need to dedicate a staff memebre or a very, very dedicated volunteer specifically for a therapy dog project. It doesn’t work to add it to someone’s already busy schedule. www.caregivervolunteers.org
